EDUCATIONAL TRIP SYMPOSIUM AT SBS INSTITUTE, BALAWALA, DEHRADUN

INTRODUCTION –

A symposium was organised by SARDAR BHAGWAN SINGH (PG) INSTITUTE OF BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES & RESEARCH , BALAWALA , Dehradun. The faculties and students of Physiotherapy department of UTTARANCHAL COLLEGE OF BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES AND HOSPITAL participated in the symposium.

TOPIC OF SYMPOSIUM AND HANDS ON TRAINING –

Perspectives on Research in Science & Health care. A hands on training was also organised in which manual therapy for lumbo pelvic region was the topic.

  • DAY ONE-29th JAN 2016 –

  Eminent speakers from various disciplines spoke on new researches in the field of medicine, physiotherapy and microbiology.Dr.Deepak Kumar spoke on the Mulligan concept and examination of back pain.

  • DAY TWO-30th JAN 2016 –

  The hands on training was on the second day.The eminent speaker and trainer was Dr.Manish Arora (H.O.D, SBS Institute).The group was trained on the examination and correction of abnormalities of lumbo pelvic region.

  CONCLUSION –

  The symposium was worth attending as the students got an exposure outside the monotonous classes and lectures.They also learnt a new technique and can apply on patients in Physiotherapy OPD .
