The student of Environmental science (2^nd Sem.) and Botany (2 & 4^thsem) attended the guest lecture on water shade conservation &management . This lecture arranged by Environmental sciences department.

Guest Speaker:Dr.VikasVatsa, Watershed Management, Govt. of Uttarakhand, Dehradun. He is the expert in State Level Nodal Agency for Integrated Watershed Management Program.

Objective of Guest Lecture: The objective of this guest lecture was to develop student’s interest towards water shade conservation & management in India.In trying to help our ailing environment such as flooding ,soil erosion ,water quality etc.

Activities/points/ knowledge learned by students:

• What is Water shade?
• Introduction about the classification ofWater shade.
• For optimum use of resources, sustainable outcomes and integrated planning, DPAP, DDP and IWDP were consolidates as the Watershed Development Component of Prime Minister KrishiSinchayeeYojna (WDC-PMKSY).
• The main objectives of the WDC-PMKSY are to restore the ecological balance by harnessing, conserving and developing degraded natural resources such as soil, vegetative cover and water.
• Management principle of water shade.

Conclusion: The overview of the guest lecture was fulfilling and educational. The studentsare understood water shade and its management  .
